If you get a chance on your visit, catch a live show at the Crighton Theater in downtown Conroe. The beautiful, historic theater from the vaudeville days has been restored and provides a unique show experience. A local favorite!
Of course you can’t beat the fun of watersports Lake Conroe, especially in spring and summer. But if you want to try the newest and most exciting water activity (flyboarding), head to HydroRockets. Fly up to 20 feet through the air above the water on its jet boards, jet chairs, jetovator and more, all propelled by jets of water. It’s a very cool water adventure you won’t forget!
Don't Go Home Without
For something truly unique, head to the Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary in nearby Montgomery. The non-profit organization rescues and houses non-releasable wolfs and wolfdogs. It’s the only one of its type in Texas. You’ll see the majestic animals up-close, learn about them from volunteers, and even pet a few. There’s an inexpensive suggested donation and visits are by appointment only.
Closest watersport rentals; 1097 Watersports is about 15 minutes north and offers kayak, canoe, paddle boats, jet ski and motor boat rentals. Lake Conroe Water Sports, about 15 minutes southwest on the shore offers Jet Ski rentals. For fishermen, the lake is known for its largemouth bass, white and hybrid striped bass, bluegill and channel catfish. Many marinas offer charters and rental gear.
