We loved having a hot tub in our room! The staff at Southfield are very friendly and did whatever they could to ensure that our stay was the best it could be! July 15, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 About par for Holiday Inn Express I have stayed in HIE several times before. I was disappointed in the breakfast area as a couple of the machines including the waffle maker were out of service. Also the printers in the business center were out of service. July 11, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service and Great Value We stayed in the suite for a conference. My room was ready for early check in, it was clean and I was able to sleep restfully. The service, especially by Martinez was excellent. She was very accommodating to my requests for extra everything and responded in a timely manner. Everything in my room was in working order and the pricing could not be beat. My suite included a pull out couch sleeper, two rooms, There was a stove top, full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, sink which allowed us to cook. Pots, pans and cooking utensils were provided upon request. I would stay with them again. We had a large group and they accommodated us by allowing us to store our luggage before check in and again after check out time until our flights left. I did not have the opportunity to use the indoor pool or exercise rooms available on site. July 2, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Probably wouldn't stay again Stayed for a weekend for a family reunion and found the common room for the reception to be very nice. Refrigerator in our room didn't work. Air conditioning went out and contacted the staff. They sent someone to fix and it only stayed on for about 30 minutes afterwards so the room was still 82 degrees. Then a member of my party was asked to check out at 11 to get their room cleaned even though the sign in the lobby clearly said 12. Asked for towels on Sunday prior to checkout and was told that housekeeping would bring them. I asked housekeeping in the hall and they didn't have any, so we left disappointed. One staff member assisted me in getting a document printed at the desk since the business room printer wasn't working. July 2, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Communication Traveled over 12 hrs to be informed that an additional $100 was needed at the time of check in since we were paying in cash. The reservations were made months in advance and I specifically asked both the reservation department and the hotel was anything needed when paying in cash and I was told nothing additional was required. The front desk attendant, Mr. Tika, was rude while trying to explain the situation to him and also letting him know my email confirmation does not specify an additonal charge. Very disappointing customer service! Other than the check in process, my stay was great. After complaining, I was offered a discounted rate towards my next stay which is unfortunate because I will not be returning to Detroit. Unfortunately, I can not redeem the discount at any other location. July 2, 2014
