Things to See

Anaheim is most famous for housing the original Disneyland, which opened in 1955, as well as California Adventure—a Disneyland addition that opened about 15 years ago. However, there are many other interesting activities in Anaheim to pique your interest outside of those created by Disney and other big names. Catch some Anaheim Ducks hockey (their training facility is open for public skating sessions daily!) or a LA Angels baseball game to get your sports fix, or visit Anaheim Garden Walk for shopping, movies, bowling, and dining. Anaheim’s historic district has been recently renovated to now include the Packing House, unique restaurants, shops, and a farmer’s market. To get out of the city a bit, check out the neighboring cities of Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and San Diego by train or car, or Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, boasting roller coasters and a waterpark.

Hotels in Anaheim

Whether you’re staying in directly in Anaheim or neighboring cities like Fullerton, Garden Grove, or Buena Park, IHG has cozy hotels to keep you close to your main destinations. Our hotels offer convenient amenities for your vacation, from free Wi-Fi to fully-equipped kitchens.

Where to Stay

Staying in the Anaheim Resort District keeps you close to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure as well as the Anaheim Convention Center. This area also keeps you in short driving distance from Newport, Huntington, and Laguna Beaches as well as Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, San Diego Zoo, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. For business trips, you may consider staying in the aforementioned cities surrounding Anaheim to avoid resort crowds.

How to Get to Anaheim

If flying to Anaheim, you’ll arrive at either John Wayne Airport at Santa Ana (SNA), Long Beach Airport (LGB), or the larger Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). If you don’t opt for taking a shuttle or train to your destination from the airport, travelling by car from the airport to your hotel can take between 20 minutes and an hour. Once you’re in the city, Anaheim Resort Transportation can bring you to many popular tourist destinations via shuttle, while Orange County Transit Authority offers bus service within the city and surrounding areas. Anaheim is known as a very safe place regularly patrolled by police.

Buena Park Business trip

This is an easy place to stay for business. Close to freeways, great parking, good size rooms with great air conditioning. Great people work at this hotel. [Less]

By Lorine
The staff was very friendly to me at check in. I am sure I look like a crazy women when I arrived. The staff treated me like a highly valued customer. Thank you [Less]
Excellent
By Lori2020
Hotel was very clean, front desk was friendly and efficient, free parking and in the middle of all attractions, towels were plush, swimming pool looked spotless, business center was modern and clean, [More] no complaints. I want to stay here again the next time I'm in LA! [Less]
New Default Base Camp for Disneyland
By mesocosm
This is a 3-star facility (limited amenities) with 5-star staff. Front desk, housekeeping, and valet staff all responded to my requests with courtesy and speed ... check-in and check-out were rapid [More] and flawless. I'm a local DLR fanatic ... yeah, I'm one of "those people" ... and I typically stay closer to the main crosswalk. This past trip I missed the booking window and had to find an alternative. This is my new default ... the quality [Less]
Amazing Experience
By BrittnJay
Unfortunately, I wrote out a great review on a previous part of the survey and I didn't save it. However I will make this short, but effective. The entire staff here is amazing, valet provided us [More] with a VIP-like experience and was always attentive, the suite was wonderful and always kept clean, the free breakfast was great, and overall I don't think I've ever stayed in such a nice hotel! As a young couple, we appreciate all the little things and really value the level of hospitality we received from the team members here, and can't thank everyone enough for making our vacation that much better! Nice and New
By Da808beast
Took the fam to Disneyland and had an overall great stay. 4th floor room was new and very clean. Staff was friendly and professional. Location is less than 5 min walk from the main entrance. You will [More] be charged a nightly parking fee whether you valet your vehicle or not. Valets were great - helpful and friendly. If you're a light sleeper, try to get a room away from the freeway as traffic noise can be an issue. The only issue I had was with the weak water pressure of the water conserving shower head but that's just a minor pet peeve. Breakfast from 630-930 is the typical breads, fruits, eggs, sausage, yogurt, juices, coffee and is free. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Disneyland. [Less]
Nice for the price

It was still being renovated, we were the first in our room since opening. The pool was not open yet, but it looked nice. Overall the stay was great. [Less]
Great Rooms and Location
By Eve70
The Candlewood Suites in Anaheim offered very clean and comfortable rooms, a kitchenette, and little store on property (very helpful after a long trip!). Even though it is quite near a major road, [More] the resort was very quiet. I slept very well and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel is an easy walk (less than a mile) to the Disneyland resort which makes this a great option for visitors to the park. The front desk staff was very helpful in answering my questions about the area. [Less]
Comfortable, but give it some time.
By Endoas
Having stayed at other Candlewood Suites I was excited about staying at this brand new location. The room was fine and staff was very friendly, but at the time of stay the hotel had opened for 1-2 [More] weeks at most. The pool area was not open and when I tried the fitness center there was a massive leak on the ceiling that was also seen in the 2nd floor parking garage. Maintenance said that this was caused due to a new boiler being installed. In addition, the shower had very little pressure, again possibly due to new boiler. The next day I found that they had closed the fitness center entirely, which was a unfortunate. I'm sure maintenance by now have addressed these issues, and like any new hotel these things will happen, and so I'd love to give this location a 2nd try but only after a few months have passed.
