This is a nice hotel in Detroit. I did not know what to expect in Detroit, but it exceeded my expectations. My hotel room had a good view (on the Detroit River) and was relatively quiet. However, [More] the Internet service was working very poorly when I was there. I happened to meet the hotel executives, and they seemed very earnest and nice, so I suspect they will fix the Internet problems. The fitness center has free weights, but no weight machines, which I prefer. [Less]

Tricky getting into as the driveway is hidden until the last minute and you have to worry about getting rear-ended making the ninety degree turn into it. After getting into the hotel it was very [More] quaint and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating though the number of staff members was rather sparse. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Birmingham Michigan because my husband had to go into the hospital for back surgery. He had complications and what was going to be a 3 day stay ended up a 5 day [More] stay. Each day I thought I was getting my husband but could not tell for sure, The staff worked with me and made sure that if I had to stay another night, I would have a room. They made me feel comfortable and I felt that they really cared what happened with us. I felt like they were my friends. It truly made things easier while I was there! I especially want to thank Kim for all she did for me! She was a life savior and instrumental in making my stay so much better. Thanks to all. [Less]

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I forgot to bring toothpaste. I called down to the front desk and they delivered some to my room within 2 minutes. Check in and check out went smoothly. [More] The beds are pretty comfortable but I wish that they were Queens instead of doubles. [Less]
