Temperatures range from warm to hot to hotter year round in Arizona, but the sights and attractions make even visiting in the heat totally worth it. Two famous American attractions found here are the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. Tourists can take scenic drives through this national park or get adventurous with mountain biking, hiking and rafting. Arguably the most picturesque spot is Havasu Falls with its flowing waterfall leading into a natural blue-green swimming pool with a striking red canyon wall background. The Hoover Dam sits on the border of Arizona and Nevada right on the Colorado River. Visitors are sure to have a dam good time with the always-entertaining dam tour guides.
American West lovers can explore two areas with the American West landscape. Saguaro National Park is 91,000 acres of desert and giant saguaro cactus, offering wildlife viewing, hiking, picnicking and historic sites to its visitors. Monument Valley has been the backdrop for several western movies and is more of a flat landscape with crumbling rock formations found throughout it rather than a valley. It’s near the Arizona-Utah border and the Four Corners region.
