Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Only decaf coffee in room On the second morning of my stay, there was only decaf coffee in the room. I called down to the front desk, the girl said I might need to come down and get it and would that be be OK? I said if necessary. She then put me on hold for a few minutes and came back and said she couldn't find any and that housekeeping would drop it off. Never happened. Seems regular coffee is a reasonable expectation. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Average Stay In An Above Average City The staff, as I have come to expect from the IHG brands, was top-notch. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel parking was non-existent, making the use of valet parking a virtual necessity, and the cost really adds up quickly. The rooms were quite dated and TINY (even in a King Suite) but not uncomfortable. The hotel was in the process of being renovated, so maybe this, along with the parking situation, will be addressed. Overall, my stay was very pleasant and exemplified everything I've come to expect from IHG for my business travel needs. I'm sure there are nicer hotels in NYC, but not at this price... I would recommend this hotel. March 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Restful Night I had been in New York State for several days on business. I chose to spend my last night in close proximity to the airport before leaving. I arrived at the airport to find it under construction. Areas under immediate construction were blocked off for my protection. Parking is by Valet only, but I was aware of that when I arrived. Valet took care of my vehicle promptly and I checked in quickly and all my questions were answered immediately. There was some highway noise from big trucks, but my sleep was not disturbed. I had a good nights sleep and it was needed. Thankful for the wonderful water pressure in the shower. Well rested and ready for the flight home the next morning. An early breakfast was provided since I was leaving the hotel before breakfast was served. Great service. March 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Disclosure I had a week stay at this location, which was pretty costly. While I was prepared for the charges, I was not prepared for the poor quality of the interior of the hotel. The hotel is under renovation. Each floor had construction tape covering one of the exit doors. During the day it became very noisy. I also noticed an unusual amount of transitional men who occupy this hotel daily. I did inquire at the front desk regarding the facility being used as a temporary housing for shelter placement. I was told no, but it did appear to be just that. Not only single men, but families w/ children. The services for families in need is not an argument to complain about, but the hotel should disclose that information. Traveling as a single woman, I was very taken aback by the amount of men in hotel lobby, in & out of elevator and/or outside smoking a cigarette. I have been a member of Holiday Inn club for several years and for the majority of my stays I was satisfied. This stay was not one of them. Would not recommend this hotel. March 18, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rookie at the front desk I reserved 2 rooms for Mar. 7 for a bus. associate and myself. When checking in, the front desk clerk was attempting to check both of us in at once. Each of us was to pay for our own room, although I was the one who made the reservation. The clerk, Jenny, kept getting it mixed up. My traveling colleague is 6 ft 3 in., and needs a king bed. I am fine with king, queen, or double. As she was checking us in, she had me paying for his room, and he was listed on my room, and both of the rooms went onto his Priority club membership. We straightened it out--no harm done. As we were leaving, I discussed our next res., which was for March 10--same deal, we needed 2 rooms. I asked her to make sure that one of the rooms had a king bed for my tall friend. She assured me that that was not a problem, but she did not make any notations. When we arrives on March 10, she regretted to inform my friend that there were not king rooms available. I was livid, and let her know that I was not happy, and that she assured me a few days earlier that it would not be a problem. I told her to find a king bed, and she did. However, later I discovered that my room was charged to my friend, and his room was charged to me, and both rooms' Priority club points went to him. Then, when I was sitting in my room working on my computer, the door opened and a pilot for some airline stood there, in shock. He was totally apologetic, and did show me that the lady at the front desk had sent him to room 609, which was where I was. He left to go down stairs to get another room. I attempted to call the front desk, and the phone was not working, so I used my cell. The lady at the front desk passed me off to a man, who apologized for 10 minutes, and said that the phones were being checked. I explained that I was also mis-registered, and gave him my name for him to make the change, but that never happened. I made that change myself later. I won't be returning to this hotel.
