Featured Chicago Hotels

Chicago is a land of rich culture, unique architecture, delicious food, famous winds and more. The city—America’s third largest—is home to more than 2.7 million people, which rises to 10 million when you include residents of the greater Chicago area. It is a great sports town, where the Bears shuffled up a Super Bowl victory, Michael Jordan once ruled the NBA, and the Cubs and White Sox still swing for the fences. With dozens of Chicago hotels to choose from, IHG has the perfect room for your visit to this major Midwestern city. Plan your trip to Chicago with additional tips from the IHG Travel Blog, starting with our
Essential Travel Guide to Chicago.

Things to See

One of Chicago’s foremost attractions is 360 Chicago (formerly John Hancock Observatory). Located on the 94th floor of John Hancock Center, it offers 360-degree views from a 17,000-square-foot observation deck, and visibility of up to 50 miles—a range that includes Chicago’s skyline, four nearby states and Lake Michigan. You can also dine and shop, or test your mettle at Tilt, a glass-enclosed platform that extends outward from the building at a 30-degree angle as you lean against it. Lincoln Zoo, which offers all guests free admission year-round, has hundreds of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians for your family to meet. You can explore the city’s rich and fascinating past at Chicago History Museum, admire the abstract at Museum of Contemporary Art, and take a boating tour of waterside wonders at Navy Pier, which also features mini-golf and a 150-foot Ferris wheel. You’ll find great live music at Green Mill, amazing urban architecture at Millennium Park, and a whole universe to discover at Adler Planetarium.

Hotels in Chicago

Chicago hotels offer a variety of ways to make your visit as comfortable and convenient to your needs as possible, whether you’re traveling solo for business or seeking a relaxing vacation with loved ones.

Where to Stay

Book a room on Magnificent Mile, a bustling section of Michigan Avenue with upscale shopping and entertainment, if you want to be in the heart of Chicago's action. The scenic and walkable area that includes Gold Coast and Old Town has a thriving nightlife, while Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville have fantastic nearby attractions for fun-seeking families.

How to Get to Chicago

O'Hare International Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports and has a variety of ground transportation options. Midway International Airport handles mostly domestic flights and is unlikely to be as crowded as O'Hare, and other choices include Gary/Chicago International Airport and Chicago Rockford International Airport. Several Chicago hotels have shuttle service, however it’s a good idea to investigate public transportation options in the event it is not offered by your hotel.

My Go-To Spot in Glen Ellyn
By Outboundsojourner
Always nice to return here. Have stayed several times over the years and always had a comfortable stay. It's a nice dress-up of a fairly sizable older structure on a compact site; everything is [More] functional, nothing is extravagant. The decor has a quiet refinement and the layout is not too confusing. This location seems to be popular for groups traveling for events or having them, but the facility typically seems able to accommodate these without the hubbub encroaching on individual parties of guests. A Little Disappointed Staff Let SWA Crews Jump Ahead
By BradFL
Our plane arrived late, we got to the hotel around 11:45pm, having to be up in approximately 5 hours. My wife and I were second in line (of 8+) to check in. Unfortunately, the single Southwest Pilot [More] ahead of us (he was done with his trip, by the way) suggested all the Southwest Crews (about 6+ people) "sign in," jumping ahead of my wife and I. I understand they were tired as well, but they were going to be off at least 10+ hours and had plenty of time to get to their rooms and sleep before they had to return to work. This added 10-15 minutes to our check-in wait, as the crews had apparently been rerouted and were staying in Chicago unplanned, and the staff was digging up the paperwork. I know the staff was doing the best they could, but, just keep in mind those crews will be off 10, 15, 20, etc hours. The folks paying for the rooms out of their pockets probably aren't going to be able to sleep in until 10am. I just ask for the hotel staff to take that into consideration in the future. Thank you. Comfortable rooms

Nice stay with convenient location to our reason for being in the area. Good price. Comfortable beds and clean. Only disappointment was with the free breakfast hours being 6:00 to 7:30 on a weekend. [More] So you felt like you had to use the restaurant on location . That was an extra charge per room per night and we are more used to having the complimentary breakfast that Holiday Inn is known for at other locations. Would possibly stay again if in the area. Great Bed/pool/hot tub

Overall very nice. Not too happy with the breakfast portion. Paid for free breakfast got charged for one of my kids. Extra $12 bucks... minimal but still was not how it was advertised. [Less]
