Featured New York City Hotels

New York City is the most popular destination in the world, and for good reason. With first-class entertainment options, world-famous landmarks, buzzing street activity and nightlife, it is an epicenter of culture, diversity and excitement. Your choices are seemingly endless when it comes to hotels, which means deciding which hotel to book can be a challenge, as options range from hostels to ultra-luxurious global chains. IHG® can help you find accommodations that cater to your wants and needs while you explore what makes NYC so unique.

Things to See

New York City is home to a multitude of world-renowned landmarks, so prioritizing your time during your visit is essential. For the ultimate sightseeing adventure, consider one of the hotels in Manhattan, home to the Empire State Building, Times Square, Wall Street and the 9/11 Memorial. Manhattan can easily fill your itinerary with must-dos, and a short boat ride across the harbor takes you to the Statue of Liberty. After a day of sightseeing, a stroll through Central Park is an excellent way to unwind.

Hotels in New York City

New York City hosts almost 55 million visitors each year and offers an incredible array of destinations and attractions to explore. Regardless of when you go, where you stay or what you do, there are plenty of hotels to fit your specific needs, and by booking through IHG, you are assured a great stay while you explore New York.

Where to Stay

When considering hotels in New York City, first choose your ideal borough, since each has its own character, advantages and charms. You may want to be closer to the multicultural cuisine of Queens or the tree-lined streets of Brooklyn. Midtown Manhattan is a prime location for visitors wanting to be within walking distance of Broadway plays or 5th Avenue shops, although they can be expensive. If you want to be in the middle of the action, look for a Times Square hotel location. Luckily, there are many reasonably priced hotels inside and outside of Manhattan, and getting around is easy.

How to Get to New York City

The New York City metropolitan area is served by three key airports: John F. Kennedy International Airport, La Guardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, which is only 15 miles from Manhattan. Those visiting the city by rail will enjoy the iconic Grand Central Terminal or Pennsylvania Station, the city's two main railway stations. Travelers with shorter stays may find New York City hotels near major transportation hubs more convenient and more budget-friendly.

The thought of getting around the city can be intimidating for first-time visitors, but traveling throughout the city and its five boroughs is surprisingly easy, thanks to the extensive Metro subway system. Along with its low cost and vast network of routes, the Metro is an efficient way to explore the city. In addition, you can easily hail a cab for a direct route to your destination.

If there was an award for hotel staff, they should win it
By Benjamin21
This hotel is truly saved by its staff. There were a bunch of problems -- TV didn't work, water went out, the one day I had the valet, the guy pulled up with somebody else's car, handed me the keys [More] and smiled (uhhh, no more valet after that). The breakfast was cold and typical, the hotel is in the close vicinity of...nothing, really. It's under construction, we could go on and on here, but for whatever negative point against the Holiday Inn Express LaGuardia is erased by the quality of the staff. Love love loved it. Enough to post this message, which I never post, to ensure they get a bonus/raise, enough so Stephanie can buy her first car...and insurance. Certainly enough so I definitely would go back. This is New York hospitality. [Less]

Stuck in the airport hotel during blizzard. Space available at Holiday Inn Express which was very good. Excellent shuttle service, good breakfast, helpful staff, ATM, clean room, quiet, comfy. Thank [More] you!! [Less]
Bed and breakfast with entertainment
By anees3108
My stay was perfect at the hotel. I had to resort to this hotel during the Jonas storm - and they welcomed very nicely. The breakfast was present everyday (though I had a brief thought that probably [More] due to the storm, there might not be). The internet was perfect, however, the TV has limited channels and half of them didn't have reception - a bit weird. The staff were very helpful and even gave suggestions for restaurants near the area. Overall, a good stay! [Less]

Enjoyed staying here, as always. Certain things could be improved but that's anywhere you stay [Less]
mostly good
By smokey52
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The only unfortunate experience was leaving. One hotel staff person did not make room on the elevator for an ADA descent. All other staff were [More] conscientious and courteous. [Less]
Great hotel near JFK airport
By ZK26
We stayed at this hotel for one night after a long flight. Everything went well. The young woman at the reception desk was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast (at 5 am) [More] was very good. WiFi and parking were free. We will certainly stay there again. [Less]
Decent hotel
By EOlkha
I stayed at this hotel several times. reasonable experience each time. Last time the week of Jan 25 was no different... almost... This is an airport hotel... JFK airport... and considering this - the [More] hotel is above par of most large airport hotels - convenient location, that does not hurt comfort, clean common areas as well as the rooms I stayed in... super professional and courteous Staff... I had a car and parking arrangement and availability was good... did I mention the Staff? - yes, super!... however - there were a couple of things that were different, or as they say - below expectations... One - when you frequent the chain and have certain relationship (like Spire status) - you get accustomed to getting upgrades without even asking... This time - I didn't ask - I didn't get.... my fault.... or perhaps - there were none available... again - I didn't ask - I wasn't told... my fault... Two - the breakfast area is really small (did I say this is a JFK area hotel?), so it does get busy in the mornings, which results in a very limited sitting - you know, travelling families with kids, taking three or four tables, or more... which is fine - it is what it is... but - there is a bar-type ledge alongside a wall, that is often used by patrons at the breakfast time, but there is no stools or anything to seat on.. so it makes it a standing "fast-food" type breakfast... and quite frankly - ruins it, as the breakfast itself is a pretty decent quality and choice... adding a few high stools or chairs would make it up... All in all - I would probably never made a note of this, if not for my last morning, when there was a person, who was circling the tables in the breakfast area, and who I overheard introducing himself as a new property manager, and who was being so friendly to people seating at the few available tables and such, and who completely ignored the few, standing at the ledge, trying to do their best to consume their meals in comfort, that did not exist... This was our 6th or 7th stay at this hotel because it is very comfortable. The entire staff are accommodating, pleasant and respectful, Cindy at the front desk has such a warmth that makes a [More] stressful situation seemed manageable. Your breakfast staff are very helpful they even take the time to talk with you. I feel as though I'm at a family home for breakfast. Thank you for being there for us. [Less]
