I can't say enough about my stay at the Hotel Indigo LES. I love the new finishes, the upbeat atmosphere of the hotel/staff, and the art installations. It seems that they thought of everything in
order to make this hotel the new place to be.
CHECK IN: When we arrived, we were greeted by a bellman who helped take our luggage into the nicely decorated new foyer. It was a very friendly welcome. We were then taken up in the elevator to the 14th floor lobby, with massive windows and an incredible view of the skyline. Check in was easy. The lobby was comfortable (many spaces to sit and enjoy the view). The art installations offered lots to look at!
ROOM: We received a nice upgrade upon arrival and our room was amazing. Everything was new and very comfortable. The design of the room and the art on the walls really contributed to the artistic personality of the hotel. We loved the mosaic floors in the bathroom and the graffiti paint cocktail shaker in the mini bar (see photo). The bathroom was actually quite large, with fluffy new towels and nice toiletries to use during our stay. It's nice to know that I can leave me shampoo and conditioner at home next time. I didn't hear a peep from outside or the top floor bar, but we did hear a bit from other guests in the hallway when falling asleep.
FACILITIES: I love this hotel for the facilities available right in the hotel. The 14th floor cafe offered coffee/tea/wine/beer/snacks at all hours of the day and is so convenient. It was nice to grab a coffee/tea on-site before heading out to explore for the day or a glass of wine/beer after a long day. We were there in March, so didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the rooftop pool/seating area, but I'm already planning a summer visit to do so!
FOOD/DRINK: We loved having Mr. Purple right in our hotel. We went up to the top floor bar/restaurant for drinks and a snacks on our first night in NYC before heading out for dinner and it was perfect! Interesting cocktails, delicious food and an upbeat vibe. Awesome. It was a bit more of a "scene" than I expected, but nice to have the option in our hotel.
EXTRAS: We were treated to a small bag of granola and nuts and a few pieces of fruit in our room. This functioned as the perfect snack between meals while we were on-the-go in NYC. SO thoughtful and appreciated. It's the extras that make the difference!
LOCATION: I didn't know what to expect when booking in the lower east side. I heard that it used to be a little sketchy, but it now up and coming. This neighborhood has so much personality - I love it! It's a quick walk to Soho, but I actually prefer the vintage shops, boutiques, small restaurants and independent coffee shops of the LES more now. So much more unique and interesting. We just wandered the streets for hours getting to know the place.
SUMMARY: Can't wait to go back to Hotel Indigo LES - as they say, "LES is more!" [Less]
