Good nights sleep
By JS16
A good, if a little dated, hotel. The bed was very soft and the other furnishings do look old. However the room was clean, warm and comfortable. There is some road noise if your room is on the A1M [More] side but it does quieten down during the night. The WI-Fi wasn't working for my stay but that wasn't an issue. As at all Holiday Inns, the staff were excellent. [Less]

On the day of the booking 15th November as a IGH member and only allowing myself 2hrs to check in I did expect the room to have been a lot cheaper then what I paid, as when I worked in the hotel [More] business / Travel and tourism late deals or same day bookings were considerable cheaper and do feel that this should be considered when late bookings are made as it's not like you are going to sell them rooms anyway. Friendly staff

The staff from beginning to end are very helpful and professional. The guest rooms could do with an upgrade as does the hairdryer! Breakfast in the restaurant is not brilliant, either dry or [More] overcooked, not a good selection of fresh fruit. Room service was very prompt, service with a smile. Bed was lumpy with a bed topper on the mattress which could be upgraded. Room was very hot, took a lot of effort to try and cool the room with the AC, gave in and left the windows open and switching the AC off. I would say that although the hotel is quite average, the staff are superb! Overall good value for money [Less]

Nice hotel. Pity about the lounge,
By GrahameB
The room was excellent and the staff very good. The lounge was a little uncleaned, with poor service and so-so food. The beer selection was especially poor. Very much so in fact, and the staff had [More] no idea of how to serve anything. The wine selection, on the other hand, was surprising and excellent. Overall, we enjoyed the stay but wish that the lounge area was something more than a badly run and poorly provisioned afterthought, [Less]
