Featured Houston Hotels

As the fourth largest city in the U.S., Houston attracts nearly 15 million travelers from all over the world each year. The warm, sunny climate is great for spring and fall outdoor activities, intriguing museums, captivating performing arts, and a thriving culinary scene. This Texas destination caters to tourists of many interests, but whatever your tastes, IHG® has Houston hotels that will help you get the most out of your visit.

Things to See

Known as Space City for its longstanding support of America's astronautic adventures, Houston is home to several destinations essential for outer space lovers. The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center serves as the training ground of America's elite astronauts, while the Space Center Houston features a restored replica of the Explorer space shuttle and hands-on lessons on what life is like on a real space mission. Houston features many professional opera companies, as well as symphony, theater, and ballet organizations, and the city’s Museum District ranks among the top in America. This area features 20 museums, all within easy walking distance of each other, including the Children's Museum of Houston, the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, or MFAH: the largest art museum in America's southwest. If you want to reconnect with nature, Houston has over 56,000 acres of park space -- more than any other city in America -- with bike paths and hiking trails to aid tourists in making the most of Houston's natural beauty.

Hotels in Houston

There are approximately 75,000 hotel rooms in Houston, catering to all tastes and budgets from opulent five-star establishments to eccentric hostels. With this many options it’s fairly easy to find a location close to the activities you’ve planned for your trip.

Where to Stay

Houston's downtown area is a popular choice for travelers, as it has a wide variety of hotels within close proximity to restaurants, shopping malls, sporting venues, and cultural hotspots. The uptown Galleria area appeals to travelers seeking luxury hotels, gourmet dining and high-end shopping. The pedestrian-friendly Museum District is a great option for visitors who wish to see many of Houston’s cultural institutions during their stay, while the Hobby Airport/Third Ward neighborhood’s South Houston hotels are conveniently close to one of Houston's airports and some of its most unique restaurants.

How to Get to Houston

The Houston Airport System is made up of two airports: Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport. Houston also has an often-used Amtrak station. Conveniently, both the Sunset Limited train (running between New Orleans to Los Angeles) and the Texas Eagle (running between Chicago to San Antonio) stop here. Houston's METRORail and METRO buses make transportation easy, giving travelers more freedom to choose where they stay. Local taxis have a flat rate of $6 for downtown travel, which lowers the need to navigate the area in a rental car.

Great location, service and comfort
By ram2k
I have stayed in a lot of hotels and motels and this is one of my all time favorites. I'll be back. [Less]
Convient Location
By Bill_55
Great hotel in a convenient area of town. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Clean and quiet. My only minor negative and it really is minor is that the internet access was a little flakey with my [More] devices (iPhone, iPad, Dell laptop) and connection was not always as painless as it could have been. [Less]
Great hotel for a short buisiness stay
By jlhoiuhfs
This was an all around fine hotel for a one week business stay. The room was average as compared to what I would expect from a Holiday Inn. The staff were definitely very friendly and helpful, [More] actually above average. The restaurant was as expected, nothing out of this world but satisfactory for an on site place to get a meal. Perhaps they could have a few more options on the menu?? [Less]
very nice place

it is the nice place to stay with good breakfast, good service, and more. It is my third time to stay this hotel in one year. [Less]
Second visit to this hotel
By davelf2
Hesitate to use the "leisure" category, as this trip was to attend a family funeral. Hotel was excellent overall, and as an amateur naturalist, I enjoyed watching the resident vultures! I should like [More] the hotel to expand its list of TV channels beyond just the station ID and channel number: include the category, e.g., PBS, CBS, etc. [Less]

Great experience from check in to check out. Very comfortable bed and quiet. [Less]
Great in room internet
The in room internet was awesome! Very fast and I had no connection issues at all. I would also say that the bed was comfortable. I was able to fall asleep quickly all three nights I was there and [More] sleep comfortably through the night. Usually I toss and turn in hotel beds, but these were very, very comfortable and the pillows were perfect. I don't usually leave reviews, but I had a great experience at this hotel. [Less]
Enjoyed My Stay
By DallasCoastie69
I have stayed at this location on numerous occasions. Love the area, close to the Galleria and freeway access. Have stayed at other hotel Indigo locations and this one is basically the same but does [More] need some touching up with paint and carpet cleaning in spots. As always, the staff is friendly and the bartender, Derk, is always pleasant and makes you feel welcome after a long day. [Less]
