This hotel is conveniently situated right in the heart of Southwark, very close to Southbank, 5 mins from Blackfriars Bridge and all modes of transport.
The staff are helpful, professional and[More] smart.
It's clean and practical and a very peaceful place to stay.
I found it a little expensive this year and wondered if they increased their prices to coincide with the jazz festival, as prices now have dropped.
I've been before and hope to visit again next year.
There were one or two small issues about my room, but overall, I can recommend this efficient hotel.[Less]
great nights sleep
By Dick D
Rooms were very clean and soundproofed.
Unfortunately our stay was let down by the poor breakfast. Food ran out and it took a long time for the staff to replenish it. Not a great choice either.[Less]
At the reception a guy from the Dominican Republic gave a warm welcome being that I do not speak English. The Spanish and also speaks English.
The room quite comfortable and warm
Good value close to London, Heathrow and Windsor
A good value hotel with parking and leisure facilities, just off the M4. Close to London, Windsor, and Heathrow[Less]
Regular visitor for business
Like most hotels in the area I find this one overpriced, but I used it extensively for a 12 month period due to it being the preferred hotel of my client. Since changing employers I have been unable[More] to stay here within expenses budget except on a Sunday night once, due to the reduced tariff.
The staff are always friendly and most recognise me and know my name, so I always feel welcomed. I have not had any major issues here not resolved by the hotel, although one of my biggest issues is that the hotel showers frequently go scolding hot and then freezing cold, before returning to their set temperature. I have reported this frequently through different channels but it seems to be a fundamental issue that they cannot or will not resolve.[Less]
Overnight for business
Great service, lovely staff, enjoyed the Priority benefits. thank you[Less]
Huge improvement on last visit
My last stay the previous week (see 'Serious noise problem' Oct 17th) was blighted during the day (working in my hotel room) by noisy air con' on the roof - apparently being 'fixed' over the next[More] several months.
I complained during check-out, where they explained the problem and suggested I stay on the first floor next time.
Upon my return the following week, I had - as promised - been moved to the first floor, and - I had also been upgraded to an executive room which was far superior both in size, amenities, and having a very large balcony overlooking an attractive canal / lock.
As promised it was wonderfully quiet. I should add that the executive 'wing' is directly above the function rooms, so week-end weddings could I imagine be a bit of a problem?
As before the front desk staff were very friendly and very helpful, and breakfast again wholesome and plentiful.
Incidentally there is a very good Italian Restaurant in the square two minutes away called La Rosetta, full of traditional Italian specialities (not the Italian overlooking the canal).[Less]
