The room and facilities were perfect. Very comfortable
By GTeo22
The room we were offered was extremely good. We were very comfortable. The hygiene was excellent and the bed enormous and very comfortable. We slept really well, no noise from anywhere. The water [More] was hot and the towel rail was hot enough to make the towels warm when drying. A very nice touch. A lovely stay. [Less]
Okay but expensive.

Really nice public areas. Room was okay, nothing super fancy. Seemed overpriced. [Less]
Hotel with Friendly staff but Mediocre Facilities
By James91
Check-in went smoothly and I was upgraded to a bigger room without asking for it. In it, two bottles of water plus a large Mars were provided complimentarily for which I appreciated. The hotel has a [More] bar and a restaurant but nothing else. The steak meal at the hotel restaurant tasted good though a little pricy. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. [Less]
Below average

I had a higher expectation of what the hotel and room would be like. The room was very small and the sheets appeared dirty. The street noise was loud despite being in a quiet zone Heating system [More] extremely noisy [Less]
Average stay

I booked a club room, which was not really much better than a standard Holiday Inn room, and on arrival late at the hotel there was a loud party on, so the bar area not very welcoming, but [More] fortunately did not disturb my sleep. Rate was ok, but would look elsewhere if staying again. [Less]
Good location to Manor Royal

Close location to town centre and restrauants. Close links to gatwick Airport and M23 motorway [Less]
A good hotel for a good price
By Jaggie420
A good experience, better than expected of a cheaper hotel compared to the usual Holiday Inns. Spacious room, good soft bench, useful table / lights and plenty sockets. Comfortable bed with good [More] pillows. Not too small, clean bathroom with walk-in shower which I think is much better than showering in a bath which is the norm almost everywhere. What could be better and would the enhance the hotel stay a lot, is the TV. As is now it is a laugh (or a miss), a first generation flat screen meaning a tiny screen. Also the reception is not too sharp. Only a few channels (about 9 or 10), these being only UK. I would have appreciated more choice like Discovery / music channel / Europe news / sports / French / German etc but none of that. Also it must be said that although the hotel is conveniently situated next to the Watford Junction, the actual street it is on is badly lit and a bit backyard like, not very welcoming. There is noise from the road (I had a room at the front) but it was not too noisy. The breakfast is good but a bit basic - no cheese or meats. I did not touch the hot food as it did not look good, plasticky scrambled eggs, uninviting big sausages and the awful beans in tomato sauce. Why would anyone eat that for breakfast? I did like the breads though and choice for muesli / cereals. In addition there are plenty empty tables so overall I would rate the breakfast as good enough but room for improvement! The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The heater in my room did not work and they put in a portable heater which worked well. To conclude I would (and probably will) come again, a good hotel for a good price. [Less]
Clean rooms, good staff
By Mayakkam
The room was clean and comfortable. As we stayed with kids the sofa bed was used which made the room congested. Bathroom was clean too. There were only a few channels available on TV. Free wifi [More] access was very useful. Breakfast was included in the room tariff [Less]
Comfortable Stay
By Dizzy53
I would recommend the holiday inn express at Watford junction, the location is ideal for the station and only a short walk to the shops. The hotel was very clean and the room and the staff were very [More] helpful. I had a good nights sleep as the bed and pillows were comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. [Less]
